Frequently Asked Questions about NGO Discounts

We have helped 20+ NGOs and nonprofit organizations with their hardware needs. Here are the answers to the questions we are most often asked.

Most registered associations, foundations, and nonprofit organizations in Denmark qualify. Typical requirements include: charitable purpose, nonprofit status, and a CVR number. We help you verify your eligibility.

A typical NGO with 20 employees saves between DKK 100,000–200,000 per year. Larger civil society organizations can save even more. Download the guide for a precise calculation.

No. Most programs are completely free or come with fixed, transparent discounts. Our guide is 100% free and non-binding. Any implementation costs are agreed separately.

Microsoft 365 donations and other discount programs typically take 1–4 weeks. We guide you through the entire process.

No problem. We perform a free license review and ensure you get the best prices going forward. Often, existing licenses can be converted to nonprofit versions.

As long as you maintain your nonprofit status, you will keep the discounts unless the software providers change their terms. We assist with annual re-verification where required.

Donations are typically 100% free (e.g., Business Basic licenses). Discounts offer reduced prices (e.g., 75% off Business Premium licenses).

Comprehensive discount programmes for Danish non-profit organisations

Danish NGOs and civil society organisations have access to extensive discount deals and membership benefits that can significantly reduce IT costs. Through strategic partnerships with Microsoft, Google and other technology providers, non-profit organisations can get free access or significant discounts on software, hardware and cloud services.

Microsoft 365 donation and software discounts

Microsoft is offering their comprehensive Microsoft 365 donation programme where eligible non-profit organisations can get up to 300 free user licenses. This includes fully functional versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and 1TB of OneDrive storage per user. In addition to the donations, Microsoft also offers discounts of up to 75% on additional licences, enabling larger civil society organisations to standardise their IT platform without breaking the budget.

Hardware discounts and refurbished equipment

Clubs and voluntary organisations can achieve significant savings on hardware through various discount deals. Refurbished computers from professional suppliers offer 30-40% savings compared to new devices, often with great warranty terms and performance. TechSoup and other nonprofit partners also broker discounts from Dell, Lenovo and HP specifically for the nonprofit sector.

Cloud services and hosting benefits

Modern civil society organisations need reliable cloud infrastructure for data storage, backup and collaboration. Microsoft Azure offers annual credits of up to $2,000 for non-profit organisations, while Google Cloud Platform and Amazon AWS have similar programmes. These benefits make it possible for even small associations to have enterprise-level infrastructure.

Management tools and business systems

In addition to basic software, NGOs have access to discounts on specialised tools for administration, time tracking, project management and finance. CRM systems like Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud, accounting programmes like QuickBooks, and collaboration platforms like Slack all offer special nonprofit pricing or free versions.

The importance of nonprofit verification

To access these discounts and benefits, organisations must verify their non-profit status. This typically requires documentation such as articles of incorporation, business registration number, and possibly tax exemption. The process may seem complicated, but with the right guidance, it typically only takes 1-2 weeks to get approved for most programmes.
